Success at the Yorkshire and Humberside Orienteering Association Schools’ Orienteering Championships on Saturday 2nd July 2016 at Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield – Daniel Metcalfe, Dan & Will Brennan, James Marsden and Seth Barraclough won the trophy for best Secondary School. Seth Barraclough 2nd place in Year 6 boys.

The children had to navigate around a course whilst running, using an electronic memory device and a map.

Everyone is encouraged to have a go at orienteering; in the Summer there are events in parks – www.xplorer.org.uk and starting in September we have the East Pennine Orienteering Club schools’ league which the children can all enter www.eastpennineoc.org.uk

The results of the trial league this year are; on the East Pennine Orienteering Club website – Seth Barraclough joint 3rd place.
