Following their training, Young Leaders at Kirkburton Middle have been using their excellent skills to support younger children across the first schools in the Kirkburton and Scissett areas. They have organised and managed Multi-Sport for Year 5 at Shelley College where they coached new sports like Boccia and Curling. They have helped run and score the Virtual Athletics with all the children at Emley First School and their support in managing their groups and coaching them through the Multi-Skills festival at Shelley College in February was invaluable! Even the snow and freezing fog did not stop them from getting there. They guided Years 1 and 2 pupils through a variety of activities including bat and balloon games, bowling, stilt walking and mini golf, to name but a few.
They have a busy programme ahead too, with more Multi Skills events and Mission Active Kirklees in the summer term. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work!
