Well done to everyone for making today at KMS an energetic, colourful and educational day.
Classrooms were transformed into different countries. We heard National Anthems and traditional music and ate culinary delights.
We enjoyed listening to their presentation “Why their country should be chosen for the next world cup”.
The pupils have been researching on previous cross-curriculum days and today they presented their information about what makes their country special, potential sights for the stadium, their location within the world for visitors, including transporation. The judges were extremely impressed by the students and chose a winner from each year group.
Congratulations to Australia (6JMW), Switzerland (7SC) and Japan (8PP) for their winning bid. Highly commended entries were 6PM, 8DB and 8AM.
More details and photos to follow next week here on the website and in shared resources – school events.
At lunchtime, raffle tickets were given out to diners and the ticket drawn out at 1pm belonged to a year six pupil. The photo below shows him receiving his prize, an official 2010 world cup football ! Thank you to all the Kitchen Staff and Catering Services at Kirklees Council for making this possible.
