Uniform Reminder

Once again we need to remind some pupils, mainly girls, about the school dress code, and ask for parental support for helping us to maintain our dress code.

Our dress code was drawn up following consultation with pupils and parents and is designed not only to be practical, look smart and encourage a feeling of belonging to the school but also to help to avoid expense and stress created by pressure to follow fashion trends.

Trousers should be black, made of trouser material e.g. polyester (not jeans fabric) and should have no external zips, studs, or other similar features.

Shoes should be black. Trainers or boots are not allowed.

Everyone should have a black school sweatshirt at least and bring a coat when it is cold.

Pupils will be asked to remove make-up and jewellery, other than small plain ear studs (that must be removed for PE).

Whether specifically mentioned or not, any more extreme fashion statement is unacceptable for school. Parents are asked to bear this in mind before spending money.

For reasons of Health and Safety and because of misuse, aerosol deodorants should not be brought to school under any circumstances – all such deodorants will be confiscated immediately.
