Digital Communication Tools/Websites
Here are a list of some digital communication tools and websites – see if you can think of anymore and how we use them to communicate. If you have an account, you can spend a short time showing your account and how it works
- IPhone – email, internet, messages, instant messaging, chat, forum, blog, video chat
- Laptop and webcam - internet, video conferencing
- Skype – video conferencing
- Facebook – messages, chat, forums, email, blog (unavailable at school)
- Twitter – blog, messages, email (unavailable at school)
- Google – GMAIL – email, chat, instant messages and Google+
I’m sure you know plenty more like MySpace, Friends Reunited, bebo….. and now mobile phone APPS can be used to make this communication even more accessable.
All this communcation can be fantastic. You can now talk to family members away from home, when possible, even in a war zone! Video conferencing can be used not only to catch up, see them grow up but also when you don’t know where “this cable goes?” Always remember to THINK BEFORE YOU POST. You may not be able to take those words or pictures off the internet and once someone else has them, who knows what they can do with them. Remember, if you wouldn’t be happy for your parent/carer to see that picture or movie or hear you say those words – DON”T DO IT
