School shoes, belts etc,

School shoes, belts etc. Or ’they think its all over… It’s not!’

We are entering the time of year when a few pupils can begin to think that it doesn’t really matter whether or not they wear the correct uniform, particularly shoes. This is not the case. Our expectations are very modest compared to most other schools, but it is very important that all pupils, including those in year 8, continue to wear the correct uniform up to and including the last day of term. Y8 pupils will need black shoes at Shelley College next year and the amount of growth that takes place over a six week holiday is not a reason for not getting new shoes now if present ones ‘wear out’. A reminder that footwear made by sports shoe manufacturers or canvas pumps is not acceptable for school. Y8 pupils were told by Shelley College staff this week that if they arrive at school wearing pumps etc they will have to work in isolation until proper shoes are brought. As well as helping us all to look smart, shoes have role to play in helping to ensure everyone’s safety, so they should have decent soles, stay on feet and offer reasonable support.

Thank you in anticipation of your support for the remainder of this term and especially when buying replacement footwear in future.
