PASTORAL CARE

Class teachers are expected, as far as possible, to be aware of any factors or events which might significantly affect the development of any child, academically, socially, emotionally or physically. We hope that parents will establish close links with the class teacher to provide a partnership to help their child’s progress. Each class is part of a year group which allows further opportunities for social development. Pupils in each class normally stay together throughout the three years.

Pupils are organised into Pastoral Groups. These are named after the Pastoral Heads. Year 6 pupils are in Booth. Year 7 and Year 8 pupils are in either Papworth or Martin. Pastoral Heads provide extra support and guidance for pupils and staff in their care.

Where parents are particularly concerned about their child, whether it is concerning work, health or other problems, they should not hesitate to contact school in order to discuss the problem.

First School children visit our school in the summer term. Parents of all pupils in school are invited to meetings in school during the first half term to talk to their child’s new class teacher.
