One big change that will be taking place later this year, both for the school and for me, is that after almost fifteen years at Kirkburton, I will be retiring as your Head Teacher at the end of August.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and whilst I look forward to having more time to be able to develop and enjoy personal interests, I know that I am going to really miss the friendship and support of pupils, colleagues, parents and governors, who make this school what it is.
Together, we have made very many significant improvements to our school since I started work here and we are in an excellent position to continue to achieve success in the future.
The governors are working with the Local Authority to ensure that the school has a new Head Teacher in post for September 2010, and will write to you in due course to let everyone know what is happening.
In the meantime, it is very much business as usual as far as I am concerned, and this will continue to be the case until I hand the keys over!
