Bushcraft was first introduced to Kirkburton in 2017 and what a fantastic time we had!

Cholmondeley Castle is a Bushcraft Company ‘Woods’ site situated in Cheshire.  Famed for its beauty, lakes rife with wildfowl and spectacular mixed woodland, the grounds of this 19th century castle are the perfect location for a school residential weekend.

This three-day course develops leadership skills, confidence, independence and team work, inspires positive attitudes, develops ‘Bear Grylls’-style skills and a greater understanding of the British natural landscape.

The pupils will take part in activities such as building a camp and shelter, finding and lighting their own fires, camouflage and concealment, fresh water swimming, cutting tools and wild food workshops and first aid.  All of this will be interspersed with games, meals and some well-earned sleep!

This is a year 6 trip after SATs that leaves on a Friday morning and arrives back on a Sunday evening.

The cost for the 2018 visit (Friday 18th May – Sunday 20th May) is £180.  The closing date for deposits has passed but please get in touch if you wish your child to partake to discuss the possibility.

Payment schedule is as follows:
