Mrs Procter writes:

The Year 8 hockey team had a superb win against Mirfield, beating them 6-0, but were not so lucky against Holmfirth, just losing 2-1.  The Year 7 team had a tricky game against a skilful Holmfirth side and unfortunately were beaten 4-0. Great efforts as always by all the players.

Congratulations to the Year 7 Netball team who beat King James’ 11-1 in very chilly conditions!  The Year 7 and 8 Netball teams have had very exciting matches against Scissett Middle. The Year 7 team beat Scissett 6-4, although unfortunately the Year 8 team lost by two goals! A superb effort was made by all concerned.  The Y7 girls also beat Royds Hall High School 9-2 on Wednesday this week. Well done, girls, and thanks.

The Y8 girls played in a nail-biting hockey match against Honley High School  just over a week ago. The standard of hockey from both teams was outstanding although despite having the majority of the possession we couldn’t find the equaliser and finished runners up 2-3. This week however our Year 7 girls managed to level the score by beating Honley 2-0. Thanks to players in both year groups.

Mr James writes:

The Year 6 football team played well in a five-team tournament last week but unfortunately could not find the net!!  All players worked very hard and only scored two fewer goals than the outright winners.  Well done to everyone.

SPORTS HALL ATHLETICS

Mr Martin writes:

Congratulations to all our Y6 athletes who performed so well against 11 other teams earlier this week in the School Sport Co-ordinator Finals. We finished a very creditable fourth, just missing out on a top-three placing despite our best efforts. Some impressive individual performances produced several medals for particular athletes. Well done to all!
