We would like to say thank you to all parents from KMS and their first schools who attended our E-safety evening. We have received very positive feedback from parents and carers who have used the advice and gone straight home and installed internet filters and discussed the evening with their children and changed privacy settings on their Facebook, Twitter, Bebo and Myspace profiles. Now the children only allow their true friends to view their photos and comments and not their “potential employers”. With the evening being such a success and such an important subject there may be a further opportunity for KMS to hold another evening in the future – watch this space.
We would like to thank Mrs Joanna Hobson from Lindley Junior School for being our speaker for the evening and staff from KMS and first schools who not only helped organise the evening but attended a fairly full large hall! Many attendees have asked for the mentioned website links to be added to our website – so as promised, please go to www.kirkburtonmiddleschool.co.uk and on the lefthand side there is a useful section for parents, which now also includes E-safety.
If you have any questions about e-safety within KMS or the E-safety evening, please send an email to our IT Manager, Mrs Nikki Wilkinson – itmanager.kirkburtonmid@kirklees-schools.org.uk
