MATHEMATICS

The main objectives are to develop a variety of mathematical skills such as operations on number and algebra, handling information, reading tables and using instruments.

It is hoped that regular assessment and feedback help pupils gain a positive attitude towards the subject so that they see mathematics as an interesting, creative and relevant subject. Pupils are encouraged to write and talk about mathematical ideas and develop practical skills.

A variety of situations are provided where pupils, working individually, in groups or as a class, can apply their knowledge and use their ideas. In addition, all pupils have access to a range of computer software designed to extend and develop certain areas of their work.

All maths sets have access to interactive whiteboards.
