Community Sports

Drew is our Community Sports Officer based here at Kirkburton Middle School.  He liases with primary schools in our Shelley Pyramid, teaching PE from reception to year 5.  Already Drew has started multi sport sessions on a Saturday at KMS.  This involves coaching Years 3, 4 and 5 in the basic of basketball, high five netball and hockey skills.

As part of Drew’s role, he works closely with Kirkburton JFC (KJFC), recruiting new players, both girls and boys and coaches, always ensuring the teams have sufficient support to run effectively.  This has lead him to liaise with Sheffield and Hallamshire FA.  Drew’s vision is that the FA coaches will support KJFC so the club works to the highest possible standard and KJFC coaches work to the best of their ability.

Drew also works with are Kirkburton Cricket Club and Kirkheaton Cricket Club. He organises inter-school competitions and runs clubs through the Easter and Summer school holidays.
