Aims of the school
Welcome !
Kirkburton Middle School means theĀ pupils, staff, parents and governors.
The school is committed to achieving excellence in terms of care and opportunity for all pupils, irrespective of ability, gender, race, class or culture. We seek to ensure that all pupils will work to improve their level of achievement.
The school seeks to maintain a strong tradition of high standards and expectations both academically and socially.
Specifically we aim:
- To provide a peaceful, safe, secure and caring environment in which positive attitudes can be fostered and purposeful learning can take place.
- To promote self-discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem, thus enabling pupils to work both independently and through co-operation and mutual support to work effectively with others.
- To provide pupils with the concepts, knowledge and skills which they will need for later life and help them to develop an enthusiasm for learning.
- To foster tolerance, understanding and develop multi-cultural awareness in order to enable pupils to respond to the needs of others.
- To ensure that pupils develop a personal sense of moral and spiritual values and an acceptance of responsibility for their actions.
- To help pupils to achieve enjoyment and success in as wide a range of experiences as possible and to feel valued as an individual whose achievements and contributions to school life are fully recognised.
